President Barack Obama and wife Michelle yesterday met Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh for the first time. The traditional exchange of gifts between the two heads of state had a modern twist as Obama gave the Queen an iPod. Was this an April Fool's joke? The Queen was said to be "delighted" with her personalized iPod that included footage from her 2007 visit to the USA, as well as numerous Broadway songs.
Obama seems keen to reflect the incoming mood of economic depression, what with digging up the White House lawn for a vegetable garden and the parsimonious gifts. But then again, the Queen did better than British Premier Gordon Brown who was culturally assaulted with a bunch of Hollywooden DVDs.
